Emily + Jon | 09.05.2020
Friends, this couple is the absolute sweetest!
I knew their Georgia plantation wedding was going to be magical the moment I met them and clicked so well with Emily at her engagement session! What’s even sweeter, Emily + Jon were high school sweethearts like me and my husband!Â
Emily + Jon’s original wedding date of April 18, 2020, was sadly postponed because of the virus so they decided on a new wedding date of September 5, 2020. After so much planning and excitement, making the decision to postpone wasn’t easy. However, the day could not have been more perfect!Â
Their ceremony + reception took place at Emily’s family’s gorgeous plantation in Coolidge, GA (which is also where he proposed to her!). Family is everything to Emily, so it was very special to have their wedding on their family’s property.Â
The day was so laid back and relaxed. Emily was super calm and just soaked in the morning while getting pampered with her girls! Jon did the same – minus the same amount of pampering (haha) – with his guys!Â
Now for the details, and let me tell you, there were MANY! The feel Emily was aiming for on her wedding day was peaceful, loving, fun, and an earthy environment and she definitely nailed it! The Georgia plantation wedding venue was full of decor which consisted of oak tree slices + floating candles in beautiful vases + all the greenery! The colors were beautiful dusty blue, gray, and greens! They even had their bar made out of a family business (which Jon is a part of!) custom Peterbilt truck – which was originally made for Emily’s parent’s place in Georgia.Â
The cutest detail was the eco-friendly confetti we got to use for some sweet bride tribe pictures! You know it’s going to be a good day when there are colorful sparkles everywhere AND you don’t have to worry about cleaning up! Another fun detail: Emily got her wedding dress all the way from Kleinfeld Bridal New York! Man, was it a stunner! Her something old was her great-great-grandma’s ring. It was so sweet to watch her Nanejo put it on her finger! Jon didn’t miss out on the fun either! He received a very special surprise from his grandparents – a watch that belonged to Jon’s late father. Let me tell you, there wasn’t a dry eye watching that exchange! Emily’s dad even got in on the special details – he wore the boots he wore when he and Emily’s mom got married – HOW SWEET IS THAT?!Â
From start to finish the day was the absolute best, and they ended it dancing the night away under the stars. It was truly magical in every way!
Emily + Jon, I’m already dreaming of our next time I get to see you guys! Love you both so much! xoxo!
A huge thank you to these two families and to the amazing vendor team who helped to make this Georgia plantation wedding so beautiful!
