My Top 4 Favorite Baby Items as a New Mom

September 24, 2019

< back to blog

Being a new mom, having my first baby, everything was unknown and it’s a whole new world. I was that new mom who bought every baby product under the sun. What if he likes this swing better? Oh, a mom on Facebook said she loved this, I have to have it! Of course every baby and family is different, but here are my top 4 baby products that we loved the most! (These are not sponsored, just well-loved products!)

I like to think of these two photos at Beckett’s thinking about me, anxiously buying EVERYTHING and the second photo as Beckett proud that we found our favorite 4!

1. Baby Brezza

My absolute number one recommendation if you’re formula feeding! We received it as a gift and it was always something I didn’t think was necessary. Now my only regret was not getting it sooner. I like to call it the Baby Keurig! No more worrying about if the bottle is too hot, too cold. It makes it the perfect warm temperature every time. You literally press a button, and the formula and water are mixed together and dispensed into the bottle. Our parents thought it was the neatest thing and kept saying how it would have made their lives so much easier if they had that when we were kids 😊 Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s worth it a million times over.

2. Dockatot

Amber Brogdon Photography l Tips for new moms l First Time Moms l New Mom Blog l DockATotI am so glad we decided to splurge and get a Dockatot. We used it longer than I thought we would! It’s so convenient, lightweight, and a great option for naps when traveling or even at home! It was reassuring knowing he couldn’t roll out of it and he slept wonderfully in it. I miss those days where we could just pack in in the car and he would nap anywhere in it!

3. Mamaroo

Amber Brogdon Photography l Tips for new moms l First Time Moms l New Mom Blog l Baby SwingI’ll admit, this was one of those products I “just had” to try. I saw mixed reviews- some babies loved it and others didn’t care for it. The Mamaroo is supposed to mimic the way a baby is held and rocked. It’s the only swing we had, so we didn’t have anything else to compare it to, but Beckett loved it! There are different settings and sounds and he would often get so relaxed he would fall asleep in it! I like that it had the option to recline up or down, which helped with reflux.

4. Boppy

Amber Brogdon Photography l Tips for new moms l First Time Moms l New Mom Blog l Nursing PillowNot only just for baby! One of the most helpful tips I was given after having Beckett was how I could use the Boppy too! Sitting on the Boppy helped alleviate the pain those first few weeks after giving birth 😉 Of course it’s wonderful for the newborn stage all the way to sitting up. It’s great for nursing, support while holding the baby, helps baby sit up, etc.

If you’re expecting a baby and you’re overwhelmed by all the things, I’ve been there! I hope you find these few products helpful- they made our life so much easier!

xoxo,

Amber
